Work with us

Thank you for your interest in joining our team! Before you apply, please read this important information in its entirety, as it will help you know what to expect in this application process.

We are currently accepting applications for our 2026 season, which runs March to early December. As our season is now up and running, our needs are more specific: we are primarily hiring for our Little Bone Food Truck (ideally someone with customer service, barista or cooking experience), our 6.5 acre farm (farming experience strongly preferred), and for a dishwasher/kitchen porter. However, we are also excited about adding another FOH professional and prep cook to the team, so feel free to apply to multiple positions! Our current season ends December 5th, 2026 and it is our strong preference that you come for a visit during the application process if possible!  ‍ ‍

Please familiarize yourself with our town, restaurant, and core values before you apply (following us on social media is a great way to learn more about us.) In addition to the information and stories on our website, our cookbooks are a wonderful resource for learning about Hell’s Backbone Grill & Farm as they feature our origin and ongoing story as well as our recipes. You can purchase them here.

Some important things to note about working with us:

  • Our business has greatly expanded over the last year due to our acquisition of the Lodge and the addition of our Little Bone Food Truck. Therefore, we are often looking for people who are open to “combination” positions: a little food truck and a little prep cooking? Yes, please!

  • Experience is strongly preferred but not required for every position. Equally important is that you are hard working, flexible, positive, and kind-hearted.

  • We prioritize applicants who can commit to the entirety of our season (early March to early December).

  • We also prioritize applications that either have been to Boulder/HBG or are able to come visit in the interview process - it’s hard to understand how remote it is here unless you’ve actually been here, and we want to set people up for success.

  • Because of the remoteness and lack of public transportation, you MUST have your own transportation (car or motorcycle).

  • Housing is hard to come by in Boulder. We have a room available in our 9-bedroom staff house, along with trailer options available, so please let us know if you need housing when you apply.

  • We are not a vegetarian restaurant. If you are a vegetarian, you must be able to taste and talk in an informed way about the food we serve.
