About the Lodge

For nearly three decades, the Boulder Mountain Lodge has been a home base for visitors exploring Southern Utah’s immense and unique landscape. Nestled in the heart of Boulder, a town of 250 people, the Lodge provides an increasingly rare experience of peace and wilderness, while still offering modern amenities to enhance comfort and convenience. Together with Hell’s Backbone Grill & Farm, the Lodge is committed to the values of abundant hospitality, ecological stewardship, and community responsibility.

FAQs

  • Check-in is 3:30 pm until 8 pm (December through February) or 9 pm (March through November). Check-out is 11 am. Early Check-in and Late Check-out are available free of charge when possible.

  • Due to our intimate size and remote location, cancellations have a significant impact on us. Should you cancel your reservation more than 7 days before your arrival date, there is no charge. If you cancel within 7 days of your arrival, the cancellation fee is the cost of the first night's stay plus tax. Any cancellations made within 48 hours, including no-shows and early departures, will be charged 100% of the room and tax for the reservation.

  • We love animals at Boulder Mountain Lodge and we have many rooms that are are pet-friendly. When booking, look for a “pet-friendly” room, choose the “pet-fee” add-on, and adjust the quantity to the number of pets you’re bringing. If you forget to indicate that you’re bringing your furry friend when you make your reservation, please email or call us to let us know. Additional information is below:

    • The pet fee is $25 per pet. Additional cleaning and damage charges may be assessed.

    • Dogs may not be left unattended in rooms and must be leashed when on the property. We want to keep all guests and pups safe and happy!

    • The fee for undeclared pets or in rooms not designated for pets is $150. 

    • *All service animals are welcome. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

  • Yes! There is free, onsite room parking. We also have electric charging stations that are free to use for guests.

  • We do have one ADA accessible room, which is the Deluxe Queen room. If it is not an option upon booking, please call us and we will do our best to make it available.

  • Yes, Boulder (finally!) has cellphone service for all carriers, though it doesn’t go very far out of town. The Lodge offers free wifi for all guests.

  • The Boulder Mountain Lodge is situated on the edge of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument to the south, and Dixie National Forest to the north. The distances to Utah’s National Parks are listed below:

    • Capitol Reef National Park: 1 hr (45 miles)

    • Bryce Canyon National Park: 1.5 hrs (75 miles)

    • Zion National Park: 3 hrs (140 miles)

    • Arches National Park: 3.5 hrs (190 miles)

    • Canyonlands National Park: 3.5 hrs (200 miles)

  • The closest international airport is Salt Lake City, which is about 4.5 hrs away. There is a regional airport in St. George that is 4 hrs from Boulder. Guests also use the Las Vegas airport, which is a 5.5 hr scenic drive.
